Privacy Policy
Plain-language commitments on what we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control. No fine print surprises.
Overview
Dumb was built to bypass noise and paywalls, not to harvest your data. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control. Plain language, no hidden clauses.
What We Collect
- Account basics (optional): Email if you sign up for updates or betas.
- App diagnostics: Crash reports, performance metrics, and anonymized device details to keep things stable.
- Minimal usage signals: Aggregated counts (e.g., feature toggles, load times) that cannot identify you.
How We Use Data
- Fix bugs, improve stability, and prioritize features people actually use.
- Send product updates you explicitly requested (and only those).
- Detect abuse and protect the service from spam or automated attacks.
What We Don't Collect
- No advertising identifiers or third-party ad pixels.
- No behavioral tracking across apps or sites.
- No unnecessary personal identifiers—if we do not need it to deliver the app, we do not ask for it.
Storage & Security
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest where storage is required.
- Access to systems is limited to the smallest set of people and services necessary.
- We retain data only as long as it is needed to operate the product or comply with legal requirements.
Third-Party Services
We minimize external dependencies. When third parties are used (e.g., email delivery, crash analytics), they are contractually bound to handle data securely and only for the purposes we specify.
Your Controls
- Opt-out: Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link provided.
- Limit signals: Disable analytics or diagnostics in settings where available.
- Delete data: Request removal of your account data and associated logs (see Deletion).
Access & Export
You can request a copy of the data you have provided and any data we maintain about your use. We will deliver it in a portable format within a reasonable timeframe.
Deletion
Submit a deletion request, and we will remove your personal data from active systems and schedule secure removal from backups. Some retention may remain where lawfully required (e.g., fraud prevention logs).
Changes to This Policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and, when appropriate, notify you in-app or via email.
